Savi Rewards
Taking a travel prototype to native mobile.
I led product and engineering work to move Savi from a web prototype to native iOS and Android apps, bringing travel planning, deals, and cashback into one experience.

01The problem
Travelers move between maps, booking sites, and reward apps to plan a trip and compare offers. Savi also needed to grow beyond its Lovable-built web app into a mobile product on infrastructure the team could own and operate.
02My ownership
I helped shape the product direction and owned engineering across the web app, native mobile apps, and backend. My work included the platform migration, shared core logic, the AI assistant, deal pipelines, bank linking, and production hardening.
03Key decisions
Decision 1
Build a platform the team can own.
I moved the Lovable web app into a TypeScript monorepo with native React Native and Expo apps, shared core logic, and CI. The migration gave web and mobile a common foundation for travel, subscriptions, and the assistant.
Decision 2
Make the trip the organizing experience.
Day-by-day itineraries, maps, budgets, and eligible offers connect planning with savings. The planner uses real destinations and places rather than inventing stops.

Decision 3
Ground the assistant in actual offers.
Ask SAVi retrieves offers and checks displayed prices against that data. Grounding, tests, and catalog pipelines are part of the product experience: a recommendation is useful only when the offer behind it is current.

04Outcomes & next question
- Native iOS and Android apps launched on infrastructure the team owns.
- Savi reported more than 890 signed-up users; this describes sign-ups, rather than active usage or retention.
- Shared product logic, deal pipelines, and an offer-grounded assistant support the expanded travel experience.
